Brooklyn Loft
Meet the creator : Brooke Thomas - Real Estate Agent turned Maker
What is your story?
It's just me at Brooklyn loft that's designing, building and running the business. I've always had a love for working with my hands, having an idea and then trying to create that idea. After hussling around for years in NYC as a real estate agent I decided to put my creative juices to the test and put a couple of my designs out in the world. I had great responses so this past year I've focused on building new designs to create a brand and business.

Meet the creator : Molly Clarke - Geomologist turned Maker
What is your story?
Rock That Gem began two years ago. I had been attending jewelry industry gem shows for many years and buying up beautiful gems. As a gemologist, I just couldn't help myself! I realized that these gems I was hoarding needed to be out in the world, making people feel beautiful and happy, so I started turning them into jewelry. It has been so rewarding to see how delighted customers are with their purchases!

Dandy Demure
Meet the creator : Monique Garraud - Making demure accessories for the working girl
What is your story?
I was six years old when I first felt the thrill of selling something that I made with my own hands-- hair bows at our local flea market. Seeing the look of joy on people faces when my mom told them I was the designer sparked an entrepreneurial spirit in me that has lived ever since.
Dandy Demure came about when I couldn't seem to find a piece of quality jewelry that was fun and fashionable yet modest enough for the work place. I started picking up findings at yard sales and flea markets and turning them into something new in my Brooklyn apartment. I found myself making them for my coworkers and friends, and decided to turn it into a business so that I could share it with the world!

Bloomsbury Sq
Meet the creator: Niambi Cacchioli - creating urban sanctuaries, one neighborhood at a time
What is your story?
Bloomsbury Sq takes its name from my favorite urban sanctuary in bustling London. As a student there, I learned how to balance the constant bustle of city life with the simple pleasures of eating a wholesome lunch on a garden bench, getting grounded with a barefoot walk in the grass, or just enjoying the seasons change one bloom at a time.
Although I was far from home, the lush green and exuberant patches of flowers reminded me of the countless afternoons I whiled away plucking fresh fresh fruit and mint sprigs in my grandmother's yard back home in Kentucky. Bliss!
When I moved back to The States I brought back with me a true appreciation for urban gardens. The garden's simple and pure beauty inspires me to bring the luxury of nature to you with wholesome and nutritive oils, decadent butters, and fragrant botanicals. No need for synthetic ingredients, artificial foaming agents, or preservatives. Instead, I delight in making products that let Nature do what it does best: nurture the body and mind.

Violet Rae
What is your story?
I have been a wedding photographer for over 20 years. When photography went digital I missed the hands on aspect of the darkroom and the surprise of seeing what was on the film. I found metal work gave me the hands on I was missing and my way of collaborating (wabi-sabi) with the materials rather then strictly planning what I'm going to do has given me the surprise.

Darmae Essentials
What is your story?
Darmae Essentials started out of necessity. I began blending butters for my son. He had very dry skin and none of the products I purchased or that was prescribed by his doctor worked. Soon my friends and family began using my products as well.
