In partnership with OpenIDEO and NYU School of Engineering, we are proud to present the miLES Do Tank!
miLES Do Tank provides a new in-person platform for bringing ideas into reality. Combining the Human Centered Design process with the action-oriented and experimental spirit of popup entrepreneurship, the Do Tank gives concerned citizens the resources, space and community they need to help pilot and realize ideas sparked by impact driven challenges.
Our first Do Tank Challenge will kick off on September 25 and we currently have open call for participants! The challenge we are tackling is: How can we reduce waste to create a more sustainable food system? Interventions at any point from food production to disposal are fair game, and to be determined by our teams.
We’ll kick things off with an intensive weekend of exploration and ideation. We’ll build teams. We’ll prototype. Participants who choose to move forward and DO more beyond the weekend, will be given support as they work together over the next 10 weeks to prototype their idea in a physical space — a storefront— where the public can interact and provide feedback. All this will be backed with facilitation that follows the human centered design process and preps team members on the process of popup production.
