A chance for young artists to showcase their work in New York City
Founded by Isabella Bustamante in 2015, Teen Art Salon is an NYC based arts platform that supports, develops, and promotes adolescent artists across North America.
From developing critically engaged art practices to examining the representation of youth culture in the media, Teen Art Salon works to serve the interests of adolescents by giving them a forum to discuss ideas, make creative contributions, and gain knowledge on subjects which otherwise may have gone unexplored.
In an environment that encourages peer-to-peer learning, Teen Art Salon models itself after the salons of history as a non-hierarchical and intimate setting for dynamic conversations. Thereby, maintaining a safe sharing space for collaboration and innovation.
Established as a learning laboratory that prioritizes inquiry, inclusiveness, and self-expression, Teen Art Salon offers salon seminars on contemporary art, issues of social justice, and the politics of youth sub-culture. An important part of Teen Art Salon is giving our young artists the opportunity to use our studio as a co-working space to develop projects, take risks, and collaborate.
